
By air: this is the fastest way to reach Paris. Many companies operate direct flights (including low-cost ones) from all the main Italian airports. There are two main airports: Charles De Gaulle International Airport, 25 km to the north-east of Paris and Orly Airport, to the south of the city. There is also a smaller airport used by low cost flights in the small town of Beauvais, 70km from Paris.
a) Charles de Gaulle International Airport can be reached by car using the A1 motorway, which links Paris to Lille; by train: depending on the arrival terminal, one takes the Paris Airport shuttle or continues to follow the “Paris by Train” signs to reach RER line B, which goes direct in various directions to Gare du Nord, Chatelet_Les Halles, Saint Michel Notre Dame….The cost of the ticket is around 8 Euros.
With the bus there are various lines linking the airport to the city: line 2, daily from 5.45 to 11 in the evening, every 15 minutes. They leave from Terminal 1, 2A, 2C, 2B, 2D, 2E and 2F. They arrive at Porte Maillot (Boulevard Gouvion Saint-Cyr, metro/RER Porte Maillot) and Place Charles de Gaulle-Etoile (Avenue Carnot, metro/RER Charles de Gaulle-Etoile). There is also line 4, daily from 7 to the afternoon, every 30 minutes. They leave from Terminal 1, 2A, 2C, 2B, 2D, 2E, 2F, and arrive at Gare Montparnasse (Rue du Commandant Mouchotte, metro Montparnasse-Bienvenüe) and Gare de Lyon (Boulevard Diderot, metro/RER Gare de Lyon).
The tickets for lines 2 and 4 cost 12 Euros.
With the Roissybus which departs daily from 6 to 11 in the evening every 15-20 minutes. They leave from Terminal 1, exit 30, Terminal 2A and 2C, exit 9, Terminal 2B and 2D, exit 1, Terminal 2E and 2F, exits 3 and 5, reaching Opéra destinations (Rue Scribe, Metro Opéra, RER Auber). The ticket costs around 8 Euros.
b) Orly Airport can be reached by car taking the A6 motorway.
By train the fast shuttle from Orly leaves every 5 minutes and goes to Antony station on line B of the RER; from here it leaves daily from 05.08 in the morning until 00.12 at night. The train goes in the direction of: Cité Universitaire, Denfert-Rochereau, Port Royal, Luxembourg, Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame, Châtelet-Les Halles, Gare du Nord and other stations.
Air France and Orlybus buses leaves from the south and west terminals from 6 in the morning until 11.30 at night, going directly to Gare Montparnasse and Invalides (metro/RER Invalides) and Place-Denfert-Rochereau (metro/RER Denfert-Rochereau) respectively. The ticket costs from 6 to 8 Euros.
By taxi: from Orly South at exits L and M and to Orly West, taxis leave exits I and H and arrive in the city centre. In normal traffic conditions the cost is around 40 Euros. On Sundays, at night and during holidays, the cost goes up to above 50 Euros.
c) Paris Beauvais Airport is used by low cost airlines and is situated about an hour from the city; one can arrive by car taking the A16 motorway; by bus (only available to those with an air ticket) there is a service which goes to Paris-Porte Maillot, where there is the Porte Maillot RER station.
By train: to go direct to the airport one can take an RER train which arrives at Gare du Nord. This service is available from 6.30 to 20.00 every day with a ticket costing around 10 Euros.
By train: Thanks to the public service of High-Speed Trains, the fastest link between Milan and Paris leaves Milan via Turin Porta Susa and takes 6 hours and 40 minutes.
Paris can also be reached by train from Italy with night trains: Rome-Paris with the Palatino, Venice-Paris with the Rialto, Milan-Paris with the Stendhal (around 10 hours), Florence-Paris with the Galileo. All these trains arrive at Gare de Lyon and are furnished with sleeper carriages with beds or bunks.
By car: There are two commonly-used routes: the one from Milan through Sempione and Switzerland or alternatively from Turin through Moncenisio or the Fréjus tunnel.

d) Torino-Modane-Chambèry-Lione-Parigi, 770 km;
e) Torino-Briancon-Grenoble-Lione-Parigi, 774 km;
f) Genova-Nizza- Aix-en-Provence –Avignone-LioneParigi, 1122 km.
